Notable

Meunier is having its moment. Here’s another 100% Meunier showing why this grape deserves as much attention in Champagne as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Sips & Scents

With a lovely pale pink hue in the glass, the bubbles bring out aromas of red berries, yellow apple, citrus, cream, and fresh brioche, with a hint of spice. When you take a sip, you’ll notice raspberry and strawberry flavors, baked apple, and a zing of citrus zest, rounded out with a touch of nuts and honey. With a 6 g/L dosage, it’s perfectly balanced, bright and lively, yet smooth and elegant, with a finish that lingers beautifully.

Perfect Matches

A great match with roasted herb-crusted chicken, pork chops, grilled portobello mushrooms, or a side of oyster mushrooms. From the sea, richer options like salmon and tuna work best. For simple appetizers, think prosciutto and mild and soft cheeses. For a casual night in, pop this open and enjoy with a gourmet burger or fish tacos.

Hands Behind the Bubbles

The Charlot family has been farming and working with grapes since 1877, and today, Victor and Charlotte Charlot are at the helm as the fifth generation to run the estate. They operate their modest 3.5 hectares (8.75 acres) using sustainable farming practices, with a focus on biodiversity and minimal intervention. For their Noirs de Jais champagne, the wine ferments in stainless steel and spends about 30 months aging on lees. Thanks to Victor’s careful attention, this champagne beautifully showcases the unique character of Pinot Meunier from their village. In 2023, they only produced around 20,000 bottles, most of which were sold in France and Italy. We are a few of the lucky ones to enjoy them in the U.S.
