Bouzy, Champagne, France
80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay
Brut
The village of Bouzy is renowned for producing some of the best Pinot Noir in Champagne. This Brut Réserve embodies 170 years of Bara family expertise, offering a taste of Bouzy's rich winemaking heritage in every effervescent sip.
A golden pour with aromas of green apple, and citrus. Enticing hints of Mirabelle plums and fresh brioche round out the bouquet. As it opens, spices, honey, and candied fruit emerge, adding complexity. A creamy mousse delivers freshness with impressive body and flavor intensity. Peaches, honey, and vanilla notes mingle with nutty toasty notes and persist in a long finish.
Body and richness make this an excellent match for creamy pasta dishes, roasted poultry, or even mildly spiced Asian cuisine but yet still light enough for aperitif. Bring the bottle and binge episodes of Drive to Survive because Grand Prix and champagne make a great pairing.
The Bara family has been rooted in Bouzy since 1860, but it was Paul Bara who pioneered the practice of bottling under his own name in the 1950s. In an area filled with grapes primarily grown for large champagne houses, Paul is one of the rare Growers where everything is done in-house, preserving personality and tradition.
