74% Pinot Noir, 26% Chardonnay
Dosage: 6 g/l - Brut
Côte de Bars, Champagne, France
A vibrant rosé Champagne with a deep pink hue stemming from the saignée method which requires crushing the Pinot Noir grapes and macerating the juice on the skins for several days.
- In the glass, you’re greeted by a bouquet of raspberries, strawberries, cherries, and violets sprinkled with a touch of yeast.
- The taste is filled with those juicy ripe red berries, hints of spice, and balanced by a lively acidity. A stand-out for rosé Champagne fans.
- A fantastic aperitif, but don't stop there. Enjoy with grilled salmon or lamb, or a light summer salad dotted with fresh berries. Backyard burgers and hot dogs are also a great match!
Champagne Drappier is a larger artisanal producer than our usual picks; you may have seen their signature Carte D’Or Champagne on some store shelves, but they also create lesser-known treasures, like this rosé, in small batches. The Drappier family are dedicated to preserving their land for generations to come. Michel Drappier, seventh generation, currently manages the vinification process but the eighth generation of Drappiers have now mostly taken up the reins - from viticulture and winemaking to marketing and horse-drawn plowing.
