Notable

Finding a sparkling wine, made in the traditional champagne method, exclusively 100% Shiraz (also known as Syrah) in a Blanc de Noirs style is quite rare.

Sips & Scents

A sparkling Shiraz isn’t unusual, but is almost always a red wine. This however, is a blanc de noir making it a fun and unique bottle! In your glass, non-stop bubbles burst with vibrant aromas of tangerine, apricot, grapefruit, strawberry, lemon zest, vanilla and cream. On the palate, the flavors of grapefruit and freeze dried strawberries shine and the blend of flavors is a little reminiscent of bazooka gum. While very fruit forward it remains light and crisp with a clean and refreshing dry finish.

Perfect Matches

This is meant to be enjoyed while fresh and youthful, so we suggest opening it within a few months. A perfect aperitif wine it also pairs well with oysters, smoked salmon and a cheese board or a bag of potato chips and the laughter of good friends.

Hands Behind the Bubbles

The name may remind you of an old B movie, but it’s real! In 1866, Henry Best purchased land in the town of Great Western, Australia. Best’s Great Western is now one of Australia’s oldest family-owned and operated wineries. They craft a variety of wines but their flagship wines are made with shiraz (or syrah, as it’s known outside of Australia). For this Blanc de Noir, they take a special approach by removing parts of the vine foliage, letting the Aussie sun do its magic. These grapes are then hand-harvested earlier than they would be for a red wine, so they keep that perfect acidity needed for sparkling wine. The red grapes are pressed, and the juice is quickly separated from the skins, resulting in a white wine.
A unique and delicious find, and we’re excited to share it with you.
