Fun Fact: Did you know the name Cava can be used far outside of the Catalonia region? Meet the winemaking family who, since 1852, has been crafting bubbles in the heights of Rioja.

This high-altitude sparkler shows its mountain-fresh character. Delicate chains of bubbles in the glass, bring aromas of wild strawberries and fresh raspberries, with hints of rose petals. With a delightful balance between full-bodied flavor and a gentle refreshing acidity, there’s a level of sophistication the belies it’s price point. Thanks to two years aging on lees, there's a symmetry of an elegant creaminess with the bright fruit notes.

This Cava is impressively versatile. It shines with fresh seafood, whether you’re serving scallops, crab cakes or a simple, yet luxurious, crab salad. A range of tapas are perfect here Patata Bravas, Croquetas de Jamón or Gambas al Ajillo. Pairs well with the Spanish series, Money Heist or The Grand Budapest Hotel (pink, elegant, and just the right amount of quirky - just like this wine).

Since 1852, when Santos Escudero planted his first vines, five generations of the family have tended these high-altitude vineyards. Now run by brothers Amador and Juan Carlos, the Bodega breaks the mold by making cava in Rioja - a region known for red wines. Their vineyards are 700-800 meters above sea level, where cool mountain air helps create wines with brightness and finesse. Using sustainable farming, they honor tradition while innovating - proving great cava can come from unexpected places.
