This brut is bright gold in the glass with fine, steady bubbles. You’ll pick up citrus, green apple, and pear, along with subtle pastry notes from its two years on the lees. It tastes crisp and clean with a creamy texture, lively acidity, and flavors of lemon, apple, and light toast. The finish is fresh, mineral, and easy to keep going back to.

Perfect with shrimp, grilled white fish, roast chicken or fresh cheeses. It’s great for a pre-party pour because the acidity and fine mousse make it a natural aperitif.

In 1974, Count Lamberto Cesarini Sforza and Giuseppe Andreaus founded the winery with a singular goal of producing world-class sparkling wines using traditional methods and they played a crucial role in establishing the TrentoDOC designation. Their grapes grow on steep terraces between 350 and 700 meters, where cool mountain air and sunny days are perfect conditions for sparkling wines. The Brut ferments in stainless steel and ages 24 months on the lees, which brings the clean Alpine profile together with soft brioche notes. Rachel, Piper and I visited Cesarini last year and tasted amazing sparkling that has yet to make it to the states. Trentino is a region of amazing wines, great beauty, and well worth visiting.
