The nose presents an enticing array of aromas: Golden Delicious apple, ripe white peaches, Bosc pears, and raw honeycomb and evolves in the glass with hints of wildflowers, nutmeg and sourdough. On the palate, a fine-grained, creamy texture and honeyed white fruit notes mingle with a touch of toast as this sparkler opens in the glass, gaining complexity. For the best experience, serve in an all-purpose white wine glass to fully appreciate its complex bouquet and flavors.

This Crémant shines as an aperitif and its freshness and acidity cut through rich dishes while enhancing lighter fare. Hams, turkey, and Asian preparations of chicken, pork, or seafood are well complemented here. Munster cheese (a specialty of Alsace), crackers and episodes of Mr. and Mrs. Smith make for a delightful evening.

The land for the Barmès-Beucher Domaine has roots dating to the 17th century. In 1995, François Barmès began converting to biodynamic practices, recognizing the damage done by chemicals. Today, his son Maxime continues this commitment, when possible, even using horses instead of tractors in the vineyards.
