Notable

In September 2024, I had the privilege of staying at and experiencing daily life during harvest at Champagne Philippe Gonet, contributing to the harvest and gaining firsthand experience at the estate.

Sips & Scents

This Champagne is bursting with aromas of crisp pears, white peaches, white grapefruit, toasted almonds, and a touch of dried apricot. It’s smooth, silky and layered with flavors of citrus, peaches, almonds and a raspberry-laced finish. The grapes are in perfect balance, as Pinot Noir and Meunier bring fruit and body, while Chardonnay adds its distinctive chalky minerality. Every sip is effortlessly elegant.

Perfect Matches

A bottle to enjoy on its own or with various foods. In particular, cheese gougères, blue cheese, chicken with a light gravy sauce, cheese soufflé, mushroom risotto, twice baked potato, ham & cheese sandwich or a grilled cheese (with bacon).

Hands Behind the Bubbles

This past September, I spent a week at Champagne Philippe Gonet, working harvest and experiencing daily life at the estate. Siblings run the house, Pierre and Chantal Gonet—representing the 7th generation of their family. The Gonet name is seen across the Côte des Blancs, with siblings and cousins who manage their own domains. However, the start of Philippe Gonet dates back to its founding in 1830. Their "Ter" cuvées showcase the best of their vineyards and winemaking expertise. Committed to sustainability, they farm without insecticides or herbicides, and use bio-fertilizers to nurture their vines.
