Notable

Renowned for producing some of the best wines in the world, a sparkling wine from Bordeaux is a rare treat. The small quantities of crémant produced there seldom reach the States. Château Sainte-Marie produced only 2,000 bottles of this blanc de noirs that was aged for a minimum of 36 months—longer than many champagnes.

Sips & Scents

This crémant is delicate and refreshing, with no dosage (sugar) added to preserve the intensity of the fruit. Expect flavors of red berries, grilled lemon slices, guava, subtle floral notes, and fresh buttered bread. It’s a gem from Bordeaux, offering a unique tasting experience.

Perfect Matches

This crémant is perfect for a festive aperitif or to enjoy with poultry, summer fruit salads, or a Sunday brunch with croissants and crêpes (no orange juice needed)

Hands Behind the Bubbles

Château Sainte-Marie dates back centuries when it was originally managed by monks. In 1936, Edouard Mondon bought the domain to raise cows and produce wine. Without children, he mentored his nephew, Gilles Dupuch, who inherited the estate in 1982. Gilles, passionate about oenology, elevated the wine quality and also became President of Entre-Deux-Mers. In 1997, Gilles' son, Stéphane, took over and expanded its international recognition. Laurence Dupuch, Stéphane’s wife, joined in 1996, and manages the administrative and financial aspects. In 2020 they began the transition to organic farming, with certification expected starting with the 2024 vintage.
