Notable

Coming from the Jura’s cool clay and limestone soils this is Crémant at its best - is a Champagne-lover’s (and sommelier’s) dream, providing the lively, cool-climate acidity and toasted, racy, and vivacious complexity of Champagne at less than half the price.

Sips & Scents

This Crémant du Jura provides you with a Champagne-like experience. Aged for 24-36 months (longer than a lot of champagnes), it’s got great complexity and finesse. In the glass, you’ll pick up aromas of white orchard fruits and flowers, with a hint of toasted bread and nuts from its light oxidation. The bubbles are fine and crisp, with layers of fruit flavors, bright acidity, and a smooth finish leading you to a quickly emptied bottle. A terrific example of Crémant that can hang with the big C.

Perfect Matches

A bottle for an aperitif that will please everyone. A board with saucisson sec, jambon fumé, and pâté de campagne is great here. Add a shrimp cocktail, a creamy alpine cheese, and rustic bread for the perfect setting.

Hands Behind the Bubbles

Domaine Pierre Richard has been a family-run estate since 1919, and today, it’s run by Pierre Richard and his son Vincent. The domaine is fully organic, with 9 hectares (22 acres) of mostly 35-year-old vines on clay and limestone soils. Grapes are hand-harvested, and after the first fermentation, the base wines are left to rest. The blending and bottling for the second fermentation happen during the next year’s harvest.
The Jura region, tucked between Burgundy and the Swiss border, is a tiny, unique wine region in eastern France. Its isolation has helped preserve traditional winemaking techniques, resulting in truly distinctive wines.
