Grape Varietal: 100% Areni

Dosage: 5 g/l - Extra Brut

Location: Vayots Dzor, Armenia

Quick Facts:

  • Areni is an ancient indigenous grape that has survived millennia and is rarely seen outside of Armenia.
  • The wine is expressive and elegant with aromas of lemon, cantaloupe, red fruits, biscuits and minerality.
  • The texture is bright and acidic with delicate bubbles. Flavors of lime zest, tea leaves, toast, browned butter and cotton candy are harmonious and ethereal
  • Vahe Keushguerian will be featured in a documentary on Somm TV in late 2023.

Vahe Keushguerian started Keush to showcase Armenia’s 6000 year old viticultural heritage. Keush’s grapes come from the village of Khachik (pop. 900) and are farmed sustainably. At 1750 meters, these are among the highest elevation vines in the northern hemisphere, and among the highest in the world to produce Champagne Method bubbly. Keush embodies an Armenian wine loving spirit and highlights the possibilities of winemaking in Armenia.
